(1) Wicked is to welcome three new cast members from October 27, straight off the back of its UK & Ireland tour. Nikki Davis-Jones will reprise her role as Elphaba, as she replaces current West End cast member Willemijn Veraik. Also joining is Liza Sadovy as Madame Morrible and Philip Childs as Doctor Dillamond. Since its opening at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in September 2006, Wicked has become the 10th longest-running show in the West End.
(2) Ronan Keating is set to join the cast of the award winning musical ‘Once.’ On November 17, Keating is to take over the lead role of Guy, an Irish busker who unexpectedly meets and falls in love with a Czech mother through their combined love of music. Keating said in a statement: “I’ve never performed on the West End and this is a huge challenge and commitment. I’m really looking forward to returning to London later this year and completely sinking my teeth into the role.” The production is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre until July 4, 2015.
(3) Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense has extended its booking period to January 17, 2015. The award winning comedy opened at the Duke of York’s Theatre on November 12, 2013 following previews from October 30. Current cast members include John Gordon Sinclair, James Lance and Robert Goodale who replaced the original cast members in June.
(4) Actress Tamsin Greig is set to make her musical theatre debut at the UK premiere of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, which will open at the Playhouse Theatre in January 2015. The show is scheduled to run over 20 weeks and will conclude in May 2015. The narrative is based on the original 1988 film by Pedro Almodovar and saw a brief stint on Broadway in late 2010 to early 2011. Ticket sale dates are yet to be confirmed.
