Groups visiting the Scottish Highlands can now benefit from immersive tours of The Loch Ness Centre in their native language. Thanks to significant investment by the centre’s operator, Continuum Attractions, visitors can do the 60-minute tour to become part of the legend and unearth real stories about the historic loch in one of nine languages now incorporated into the experience.
The Loch Ness Centre welcomes more than 110,00 guests each year, with 45 per cent of those coming from outside the UK. The attraction, which was reopened by Continuum in 2023 following a £1.5m redevelopment, can now welcome guests speaking Mandarin, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese and Spanish without the need for them to use a headset.
The Port of Invergordon, less than an hour north east of the attraction, is scheduled to welcome more than 120 cruise ships in 2025 – delivering international tourists into the heart of the Highlands, which is a key market for the attraction. Nearly 13,000 groups visitors were welcomed to the centre in 2024/25, with France, Spain and Germany representing the largest non-English speaking audiences to discover the story of the world’s most famous monster in their own language.
Nagina Ishaq, general manager of The Loch Ness Centre, said: “We are thrilled to offer our immersive tour experience in nine languages, making the legend of Loch Ness more accessible than ever before. This investment ensures that visitors from around the world can connect with the history, mystery, and science behind the loch and its secrets in a way that feels personal and engaging. With the Port of Invergordon welcoming a significant number of potential guests onto our doorstep each year, this also allows us to better cater to the growing number of international visitors exploring the Highlands by sea, as well as those travelling by other means."
