The studio-house of Victorian artist and former President of the Royal Academy, Sir Frederic Leighton, is set to re-open in mid-October following a multi-million pound transformation.
On the edge of Holland Park in Kensington, London, Leighton House is famed for its opulent interiors, including the extraordinary Arab Hall (pictured here) with its mosaic floors and tiles acquired through Leighton’s travels to Turkey, Egypt and Syria.
The redevelopment will reveal previously unseen historic features, including a separate entrance to the house that was used by Leighton’s models, and an exhibition programme will run throughout the year, including:
• Artists and Neighbours: the Holland Park Circle, from October 15 to March 15, 2023.
• A Life of Drawing: highlights from the Leighton collection, from October 15 to February 15, 2023.
