Inspired by the hit Netflix show, Bridgerton, Historic Royal Palaces’ Travel Trade Team, in partnership with Company of Cooks, has announced the creation of a Queen Charlotte’s Afternoon Tea picnic box for groups visiting Hampton Court Palace.
Featuring The Duchess’ Finger Sandwiches, Farmer George’s Pork Pie and the Ton’s Scones, Queen Charlotte’s Afternoon Tea picnic box will be available exclusively to groups of 20 or more. Bookings will be managed directly by Historic Royal Palaces’ catering team, Company of Cooks, who can be reached at HRPEvents@companyofcooks.com. Bookings must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of the planned visit date. All dietary requirements can be accommodated but must be advised upon enquiry.
Seating will be reserved in the Tiltyard café from 12pm-13pm. Alternatively, visitors will be able to follow in the Bridgerton cast’s footsteps as they enjoy their Afternoon Tea within the picturesque palace gardens and courtyards.
The Travel Trade Team recommend combining the picnic box with Historic Royal Palaces’ TV and film audio guide tour. Featuring interviews from TV and film producers and palace curators, discover how the 500-year-old palace has been the setting of hundreds of classic films and iconic TV moments since 1926, from blockbusters like Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again to the recent Netflix smash hit Bridgerton. Listeners will learn how stunts are performed in historic spaces, which film crew brought a zebra into the palace and how even Historic Royal Palaces’ Head Gardener's dogs have had a role to play in the movie business. This star-studded new audio guide tour is included in admission to Hampton Court Palace and can be collected upon arrival to the palace from the Information Centre.
