about the fascinating history, heritage and culture of the town.
Our expert guides deliver tours for groups and individuals which can be organised for a half-day, full-day or longer.
Itinerary for the day........
09.45am - Meet your Discover Newmarket Tour Guide at the National Stud, Newmarket.
10.00am - Experience Newmarket's famous training grounds where you will see the day's second 'lot' being ridden out on Warren Hill. Your guide will be able to point out different Trainer's 'strings' and points of interest along the way.
10.30am - Time to visit the 500-acre National Stud which is home to some of the leading stallions of the racing world and the only stud open to the public. During your visit you will get a full insight into the working of a thoroughbred farm and see what is involved before and after the horse's time with a trainer. You will meet stallions, mares and foals along the way.
12.00 noon - Lunch.
13.00pm - Spend the afternoon exploring the newly opened National Heritage Centre for Horseromplementary attractions; a new National Horseracing Museum, a National Art Gallery of British Sporting Art, and a chance to meet former racehorses and learn what they do after racing, in the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses.
15.00pm - Return to cars at the National Stud.
