The Group Buyer Forum event at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey has been rescheduled to a new date of Monday 24th May.

The original date had been Monday 8th March, but the national lockdown and COVID restrictions have encouraged the organisers to plan further ahead.

The Forum is the ideal way for the tourism industry – especially during this time of crisis – to generate new group bookings with coach and tour operators. Hotels, attractions and destinations attend these events with the sole intention of doing business with tour planners.

It’s an ideal ‘recovery for groups’ occasion and will help businesses to make new group bookings, as well as tour planners to plan their own tours while giving lots of new ideas to the industry.

Arranged by Steve Reed Tourism Ltd of Hampshire, working in conjunction with national GTO club Travel World Association, the event would be the latest in a series of successful set pieces around the UK. The challenges for anyone arranging events are enormous says Steve Reed, MD of Steve Reed Tourism.

‘Most of last year’s events were cancelled because of the pandemic and the restrictions enforced by the government, but with the rolling out of the vaccines there are fingers crossed for a better year for tourism in 2021,’ says Steve.

‘We have decided not to give up on this event as we have a top class venue in Denbies Vineyard, which is perfect for a COVID-compliant and safe occasion. The new date gives us the time and opportunity to assess the regional and indeed national situation with regard to events of this type.

‘We’re now inviting tour planners and exhibitors to check their diaries and make a date for the Group Buyer Forum on Monday 24th May at Denbies in Dorking, Surrey.'

Denbies is easy to find and is served by nearby motorways and rail routes. The event will include wine tours, vineyard tours, wine tasting and the chance to meet some top tourism businesses from around including hotels, destinations and attractions. The venue also has plenty of free car parking, indoor and outdoor facilities and is set in a breath-taking location within the Surrey Hills – yet so close to the M25 and A3.
