Sheep take centre stage this May half term at the annual Kent Life Heritage Farm Park Sheepstakes event (May 27 to June 4).
Groups who flock to the award-winning attraction, near Maidstone, can see the Kent Life team help the animals out of their winter coats in skillful sheep-shearing demonstrations (Tuesday to Saturday), while sheep dogs, Jake and Barney, will take time out from their herding duties to meet the crowds.
Ferret-racing, family games on the green and farm rides add to the rural fun. Creative children will also enjoy showing off their skills in the Paint a Pot Studio. Animal-lovers can explore the working farm, where they’ll find pigs, sheep, ducks, goats, alpacas, horses and ponies, and even enjoy a hug with some of the farm’s smaller animals in Cuddle Corner.
Kent Life is the county’s premier rural heritage experience, set in 28 acres of glorious countryside. Explore the beautiful gardens, orchard and one of the last hand-picked hop gardens in the country; ramble along the wildlife discovery trail; and see the last working coal-fired oast house in Britain. Kent Life has large indoor play areas to explore, so there’s entertainment guaranteed, whatever the weather.
