Visit Hull has launched a new website aimed at group travel organisers, tour operators and coach companies visiting the city.www.hullgrouptravel.com
Under the banner of “It Must Be Hull’, the new site reveals some of the highlights of a city visit, as well as details of coach parking, accommodation, accessibility, and group-friendly places to eat. It also offers online bookable products, helping group travel companies manage bookings efficiently. Launched as part of the city’s bid to build back from the pandemic, Hull Group Travel has contact information for attractions, hotels, and restaurants as well as inclusive packages, which are bookable online, and suggested itineraries. And to help with group planning, the new site includes a virtual fam visit with a video tour of attractions, such as The Deep, the Fruit Market cultural quarter, Trinity Market, Hepworth Arcade, Hull Minster, and the free-to-enter attractions in the city’s Museums Quarter. Yorkshire’s only waterfront city - with a bustling modern Marina and rich seafaring heritage - also offers some quirky attractions, such as England’s smallest window at the George Hotel, in the wonderfully named Land of Green Ginger, and its famous white telephone boxes, with Hull the only place in the country not to have BT provide its telephone services. The city has long been popular with coach parties thanks to the wealth of its culture and heritage, and prior to the pandemic had seen year-on-year growth in coach and group tourism visits. Now Hull aims to help build back, sustain and grow the sector, and the new website is the latest tool to promote the city to groups. Among new additions are B2B pages, providing information to the travel trade industry, while other features include accommodation suggestions – plus a service to help book rooms for groups - ideas for great days out, and even a Pub of the Month, reflecting the strong food and drink heritage of the city. There are group incentives too, with pre-booked coaches receiving free reserved parking, a Meet and Greet Service, literature and maps for all passengers and a Driver Welcome Bag, which includes a travel mug and meal voucher to be redeemed at Ferens Art Gallery.
