Wallonia is inviting tour planners to enjoy a Belgian beer at World Travel Market…
The Belgium Tourist Office-Wallonia is inviting coach and group tour operators to visit its stand at World Travel Market next month to enjoy a Belgian beer and find out about new group tour opportunities for 2019 and 2020.
Sharing the stand this year, to give tour planners a real favour of what southern Belgium has to offer, are the historic cities of Mons, Namur, Tournai and Charleroi, and the tourist offices for Waterloo, Durbuy and Hainaut. Visitor attractions include the Bastogne War Museum, Caves of Han and the Euro Space Centre. There will also be representatives from a number of Wallonia’s leading group-friendly hotels including Floreal La Roche, Hotel Van der Valk, Les Comtes de Méan, Hotel & Resort Liège, and Cayman Hospitality, representing Ibis, Novotel and Budget hotel brands. Also sharing the stand, and highlighting their travel options, will be Eurotunnel Le Shuttle and Eurostar.
For 2019, Wallonia is highlighting its appeal as ‘Terre d’Eau’, the ‘Land of Water’, focusing not only on the opportunities for groups to enjoy the region’s many rivers, lakes and canals but also its many water-based drinks – beer, whisky etc.
Phil Maree, trade manager, says: “Southern Belgium (Wallonia) is a relatively small region, full of a remarkable range of group-friendly places to visit. I’d like to invite coach and group tour operators coming to World Travel Market to visit our stand (EU440), not only to enjoy a glass of our award-winning Belgian beer, but also to discover for themselves why Wallonia is becoming a favourite for tour planners looking for somewhere different to include in their programmes for 2019 and 2020.”
