Hotel Indigo Chester and The Forge, which is located within the hotel, are celebrating after winning two awards. General Manager, Scott Rankin, won Manager of the Year and Chef De Partie, Ged Jones, won Young Chef of the Year at the Chester Hospitality Association awards last month, held at Chester Racecourse.
The awards are a chance to celebrate the talented individuals at the heart of Chester's hospitality and retail industry. They aim to shine a light on and honour the unsung heroes who demonstrate dedication, resilience, commitment and a passion for the industry and bring together the best and brightest of the region's hospitality industry.
The judges said: “Scott demonstrated all round amazing management skills and is clearly a great leader and team player. He has a commercial focus and is very guest driven. It is evident that the neighbourhood philosophy, driven by Scott, is living and breathing in the business, and is demonstrated by The Forge’s procurement of local and regional produce, as well as an extensive partnership programme of collaboration with complimentary businesses from within Chester.”
Scott Rankin, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Chester, adds: “We are absolutely delighted to have won not one, but two awards at the Chester Hospitality Association Awards. We have some fantastic, hard working people at Hotel Indigo Chester and The Forge, and winning these two awards are a very rewarding achievement.”
Led by Head Chef, Dan Regan, The Forge is one of Chester’s best restaurants. Opening in Spring 2021, the 70-seater restaurant, has a passion for wild, sustainable British ingredients.
