This weekend's Discover Lincolnshire Weekend – from Saturday 30th to Sunday 31st March – will mark the beginning of English Tourism Week, an annual celebration of the people, places and experiences that help make holidays in England so great.

Visitors and residents alike can discover what Lincoln and Lincolnshire has to offer with a range of free entry, special offers and activities across the region.

Highlights include free entry to Lincoln Cathedral, tours of the Lincoln Castle grounds, and open days at the award-winning Lincoln Guildhall. Additionally, Lincoln BIG is offering free rides on the open-top sightseeing tour bus which provides great views of the Cathedral Quarter, Brayford Waterfront, and across the countryside.

With Lincoln Street Food Festival taking place in the city centre, why not take a look around 200 Degrees Cafe and Seasalt Cornwall in the newly redeveloped Cornhill Quarter before heading to the high street for a bite to eat?

Outside the city, Gainsborough Heritage Centre and Gainsborough Old Hall are offering free entry over the weekend, as is Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre, along with free historic walking tours available at Hartsholme Country Park. Lincolnshire Cooperative also has special offers on their local food range to tempt you.

The weekend aims to raise awareness and pride of the great visitor experience Lincoln city and countryside has to offer. Visit Lincoln is leading on promotion and coordination of the special weekend and supporting many of the events taking place across the county. With free activities, walking and guided tours, plus special offers over the weekend, Visit Lincoln is encouraging everyone to celebrate the start of Spring by exploring and discovering the county’s greatest assets with the family.
