London‘s Museum of the Home (formerly the Geffrye Museum of the Home) will be re-opening in Summer 2020, following a major development revealing a beautiful new exhibition and event space.
New display spaces will present the Museum’s unique collection of previously unseen and iconic domestic objects including textiles, furniture and hand-crafted objects, as well as archival and contemporary photographs, film and audio recordings, that bring to life both the extraordinary and universal experiences of home from 1600 to the present day. Thought-provoking personal stories will be at the heart of the museum’s new exhibitions and these, together with the much-loved Rooms and Gardens Through Time, will explore historic and contemporary ways of living.
The Museum is set in the Grade I listed 300-year-old Geffrye almshouses and gardens in the heart of vibrant Hoxton, East London. To find out more visit
