The Association of Group Travel Organisers (AGTO) has confirmed that Rachel McQueen, Director of Tourism at Marketing Cheshire (pictured here), will deliver the opening address at the AGTO Showcase Weekend, which takes place at the QHotel Park Royal in Warrington from 15-17 September 2017.
Rachel is a strategic marketer with extensive experience of destination promotion to both business, leisure and group travel organisers. She worked at Marketing Manchester for close to a decade, where she focused on developing and managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful national and international marketing campaigns. After two years working for a specialist branding agency, she returned to the world of destination marketing, joining Marketing Cheshire in April 2017.
Rachel’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on experiential group travel. The panel will comprise a group travel organiser, James Silvester, Chairman of AGTO’s Kent Branch; Alex Jacobs, Managing Director of tour operator Northern Secrets; Sarah Goldsbrough, National Sales Manager-Groups, Warner Leisure Hotels and a representative from Chester’s new £37 million entertainment venue, Storyhouse.
The AGTO Showcase brings together group organiser and associate members from all over the UK to participate in a programme of business and social sessions. Showcase highlights include a choice of specially tailored familiarisation trips arranged by Marketing Cheshire to attractions including Tatton Park, Port Sunlight and Chester Cathedral. Other elements of the Showcase programme include networking sessions and a dinner with entertainment arranged by headline sponsor, made tourism marketing.
